Are bonds actually useful again or are people just nostalgic for 60/40?

I'm 37 and trying to decide whether to move from 90/10 to 80/20 over the next year. Curious where people actually stand, not what the internet mascot answer is.

They never stopped being useful, people just hated looking at them for a while.
