I bought an NFT for the community and the community evaporated

People joke about exit liquidity, but what actually surprised me was the social whiplash. One month there were meetups, voice chats, merch mockups, inside jokes. Six months later the floor was a graveyard and the 'gm' people had moved on to AI avatars or fitness posting.

I met one legit friend through an NFT server, so I can't say it was all fake. But yeah, price was the glue for many.

The communities were real. They just weren't always durable.
