Almost installed a fake wallet app from the app store

I assumed app store meant safe enough. Searched the wallet name, saw multiple lookalikes, and one of them had a bunch of sketchy five-star reviews with weird grammar. If I was one coffee sleepier, I probably would've installed the wrong one.

Beginner reminder that scammers absolutely rent the same hallway as legitimate stuff.

Same thing on browser extensions. Two extra minutes can save months of pain.

Good catch. People underestimate app store impersonation.

I only use links from the company's official site for wallet apps now. Search results are too messy.

The fake review farms are so obvious once you slow down, but that's the trick: they hope you don't.
