Retired last year and trying a 3-bucket setup

Age 61. Recently left full-time work. I'm testing a simple bucket approach because it helps me not stare at market swings all day.

Current setup:
- 2 years spending in cash
- 5 years spending in bond funds and short-term bonds
- the rest in global stock funds

Percent wise it's about:
- 42% stocks
- 38% bonds
- 20% cash

Would love critique from people who are actually drawing down, not just accumulation warriors telling me to go 100% stocks until my funeral.

Retired three years. I do something similar, just less cash and more short bonds.

Accumulation warriors is hilarious and accurate.

20% cash sounds high until you frame it as literal spending runway.

That is helpful, thanks. I may trim the cash bucket once I trust myself more

If the bucket system keeps you from panic selling, it's doing a real job.
