stock jumped after earnings and now i want to lock it in. beginner brain or reasonable?

Bought a small position months ago as a learning experiment. It popped way faster than I expected after earnings and now I'm up around 27%. Part of me wants to sell because that feels like a huge win compared with my boring ETF gains.

Do you all have rules for trimming quick winners, or is that just me wanting a gold star?

It's okay to take profit if the position was always a short leash learning trade.

The emotional version of the math wins a lot of these decisions.

I usually sell enough to calm my nerves, then leave the rest. maybe suboptimal, but i'm human

This kind of honesty is more helpful than another victory lap post.

Write down why you bought it. If nothing changed except the price, that matters.

Yep. it only looks minor until it repeats 40 times.
