is supervised apartment hallway time a terrible idea

Indoor cat, no yard, no balcony, top floor building with a pretty clean enclosed corridor. She bolts to the front door anytime I bring groceries in. I was wondering if 5 minutes of harness hallway sniffing is enriching or just teaching her to door dash harder.

I'd worry more about someone opening a stairwell door at the wrong second

Yeah that exact nightmare is why I haven't tried it yet.

Could go either way depending on the cat honestly.

If you do it, make it on a cue. harness on = hallway time, random open door = never.

Hallways carry a LOT of neighbor smells, which can be enrichment or stress soup.

For mine it absolutely increased door obsession, so I stopped.
