storage question from a small-apartment goblin: vertical or horizontal for game boxes?

I know the ideal answer is "buy more shelving" but London rent says no. Some boxes live on their sides already and the components seem mostly okay, yet every time I do it I feel like I am betraying an invisible uncle.

Would love practical wisdom.

Vertical with bagged components is fine for most modern inserts.

Ikea Kallax has committed more boardgame real estate than some nations.

The invisible uncle is called gravity and he can be negotiated with.

Horizontal for games with terrible inserts, vertical for everything I've aggressively bagged.

Aggressively bagged is basically my entire strategy at this point

Just never trust punchboard tokens loose in a tall box unless you enjoy archaeology.
