Best/worst exchange experience as a beginner?

Not trying to start a holy war. Just collecting real user impressions. What did your first exchange do well, and what made you want to throw your laptop?

Mine was easy to buy on, less easy to understand once I started caring about fees, holds, and withdrawals.

Coinbase taught me crypto. Then their fee structure taught me to read menus more carefully.
