dog park toy etiquette: do you bring balls or is that asking for drama?

My dog loves fetch, my neighborhood park is half empty at 7 am, and every time I think 'this seems fine' somebody's resource guarder appears like a plot twist. Curious what the general norm is where you live.

The etiquette isn't the ball, it's whether the owner can read the room fast enough.

Norm here is no high-value toys inside the fence. Long line in the field next door instead.
