Why does every bull run invent a new reason not to just buy BTC/ETH

I keep telling myself I'll stay simple next time. Then a shiny narrative appears, a Discord friend starts talking about 'asymmetric setups,' and suddenly I'm researching token unlocks for some coin named like a startup cough syrup.

I still buy alts, but I force myself to fund them from a smaller bucket instead of from my main conviction bag.
