panic sold the bottom once, won't romanticize it

Sometimes online people tell the story like a dramatic learning arc. Mine was less noble. I panic sold during a nasty slide, sat in cash feeling sick, then bought back higher months later. Classic clown routine.

At the time my portfolio was roughly:
stocks 82%
bonds 8%
cash 5%
BTC 5%

Now I'm 75/20/5 with no crypto and much less ego. The expensive part wasn't only the performance hit, it was realizing I had misjudged my own stomach by miles.

Risk tolerance is a theory until the chart starts barking at you.

75/20/5 and sleeping better is not a bad trade.

More people need to say this plainly. I sold and bought back higher is incredibly common.

Clown routine, yes, but a survivable one.

The no-crypto line is interesting. Was that because of returns or because it made you check too often?

Mostly behavior. It turned every red day into a personality event.
