am I weird for preferring dividend funds in my 30s?

I'm 34. Every time I mention liking SCHD or DGRO, somebody appears from the ceiling to tell me total return is what matters. I know that. I also know dividend funds make it easier for me to stay invested because the cash flow feels tangible.

Current mix:
VTI 48%
SCHD 24%
DGRO 12%
VXUS 11%
cash 5%

Am I just making an emotional-support allocation or is that... fine actually?

You're weird only in the sense that finance people pretend feelings don't matter.

Emotional-support allocation is still an allocation. If you know why it's there, okay.

Behavioral fit > theoretical perfection, within reason.

I wouldn't let dividend funds become your whole personality, but that mix looks tame.
