couples who invest differently: do you compromise or run two systems?

My partner loves single stocks and follows earnings calls for fun. I want a tiny number of broad funds and maybe a nap. We're getting married next spring.

Her account: about 40% big tech, 20% indexes, rest random names
Mine: 85% total market + international, 15% bonds

Do couples usually create one household allocation and then keep a personal nonsense allowance, or is it cleaner to fully merge ideology too?

Household core + personal sandbox is the least fighty version I've seen.

Compromise on goals, not every ticker.

You do not need one investing religion to have one marriage.

The nap line tells me you should not merge ideologies completely

Correct. My ideal portfolio has the same energy as plain yogurt.

My husband has a 5% cowboy account. I don't look at it unless it catches actual fire.
