freezer alarm went off at 2:11am and apparently my body can still teleport

Ran to campus half asleep thinking we'd lost months of samples. Got there and the door hadn't sealed properly after someone grabbed ice buckets. Crisis mostly avoided, but I did spend twenty minutes in a puffer jacket reorganizing racks while questioning every life choice that led me to a keycard at 2am.

At least it wasn't compressor failure. Thats the true nightmare.

Choosing peace is wise. Also maddening.

I once biked to campus in sleet for a false alarm and nearly became a ghost.

Did you ever figure out who left it open?

Narrowed it to "someone helping clean up after journal club" which is diplomatic for "i know but i'm choosing peace"

The specific adrenaline of equipment alarms should be studied by science itself.
