what did your TPLO REALLY cost by the end

Golden retriever, 5 years old, blew a knee doing absolutely nothing cinematic. Surgical consult next week. I keep seeing ranges online that feel fake because nobody includes rehab, meds, follow-ups, or the giant pen you suddenly buy so they don't launch off the couch. Give me the ugly real numbers.

About 6.8k all in, including rehab and the meds she spit into another dimension.

Ugly truth: the crate rest gear, slings, puzzle toys, and takeout for tired humans adds up too.

Get a quote for the OTHER knee emotionally while you're there. Sorry.

Insurance covered 80% after deductible and I nearly kissed the reimbursement email.

Thank you for asking this because internet ranges are always 'between 2 dollars and a yacht'.

Mine was 5.4k surgery only, more like 7k by the time we were done pretending rugs are optional.

This happened to my lab and the recovery was more expensive in sanity than cash.

We skipped formal rehab and did home exercises from the surgeon, but only because ours was a velcro dog.
