40 and finally taking retirement seriously. too late for 90% stocks?

I'm 40, probably 22-25 years from retirement if work doesn't burn me out first. Risk tolerance is decent as long as the plan makes sense. I spent most of my 30s paying down life stuff and only started investing consistently the last two years.

Current allocation:
- 70% world equity ETF
- 10% value ETF
- 10% bond fund
- 10% cash

Should I push this closer to 90/10 for a while since I'm behind, or is that me trying to make up for time with extra volatility?

Behind people always want allocation to solve what contributions solve.

90% stocks is fine if you're mentally built for it. A lot of people are not.

Fair. I can increase contributions next quarter, so maybe that's the lever

Being behind does not magically increase your risk capacity.

I started at 41. The boring answer was raise savings rate first, then tweak allocation second.
