fractional shares feel convenient but am I getting quietly rinsed on fees/spread?
Started with fractional buys because it lowered the intimidation factor a lot. Now that I understand markets a tiny bit better, I'm wondering whether the convenience comes with hidden costs I didn't pay attention to at the start.
Not asking about any one broker, just whether you eventually moved to full-share or ETF-only buys for this reason.

I still use them for broad ETFs and don't lose sleep. I would care more for illiquid single names.

Convenience can be worth paying for when the alternative is not investing at all.

Read the execution policy doc. painfully boring, surprisingly useful.

Fractionals are great if they get you started. Then yes, you should understand the pricing once money gets bigger.

Right, and once sleep gets worse the expected return math stops feeling abstract.

I like this because it treats behavior as real, not as a footnote.
