kitten only wants to drink from my water mug. bowl is fresh, fountain is fresh. why

Before anyone asks, yes she has normal access to clean water in two spots. Yet if I leave a mug on my desk for thirty seconds, suddenly that's premium reserve water. Is this a phase or just my future?

Cats love 'forbidden' water. Mine prefers the plant saucer if I blink.

Try a ceramic mug that's hers. I know that sounds ridiculous but it worked for us.
