audiobook speed: are we all pretending 1x is normal

Friend told me she listens at 2.3x and I genuinely thought she was training for a legal exam. I do 1.2 maybe 1.3 if the narrator is extra deliberate.

Curious where other people land.

2x for nonfiction, 1x for fiction. Character voices deserve oxygen.

1.5 is my sweet spot. Any slower and I start mentally editing them.
