Are metal seed backups actually worth buying?

I live in a regular apartment, not a volcano. But the paper backup fear is strong.

For those who upgraded from paper to metal, did it feel genuinely useful or mostly like buying expensive peace of mind merch?

My apartment has many flaws but lava is not currently one of them

For a larger stack, worth it. For a tiny beginner amount, paper plus common sense might be enough for now.

I see it as insurance. Boring, maybe overpriced, but the purpose is sleeping better.

The bigger issue is whether your backup method is legible and recoverable, not whether it looks metal as hell.
