I thought adopting an older dog would mean fewer training issues. lol
Love this dog dearly, but my 'already trained' 7-year-old rescue boxer came with counter surfing, door charging, and a deep belief that leashes are decorative. None of this is unfixable. I just think rescues sometimes market adult dogs like they emerge from the shelter understanding manners and taxes.

Door charging is so annoying and so trainable. But yeah, you still gotta train it.

Exactly. I'm not mad at the dog, just the brochure language.

Adult dogs skip the puppy bladder but not necessarily the behavior homework.

I wish rescues would say 'less chaos, different chaos' more often.

My 'house trained' rescue was, technically, against houses.

Understanding taxes made me snort.

Shelters see a tiny slice of behavior. Then home life reveals the director's cut.
