senior cat cries after using the litter box but all tests keep coming back 'fine'

12yo female. Urinalysis normal, bloodwork okay, x-rays showed a little arthritis and constipation but nothing dramatic. She pees, walks out, does this sad yowl, then is normal five minutes later and asks for snacks. Vet isn't alarmed but I am. Anyone have a weird mystery box-cryer that turned out to be something non-obvious?

I had one who yelled after every poop for 14 years and nothing was ever wrong. absolutely unhelpful data but true

Honestly even unhelpful data is soothing at 1am, thank you.

Cats also sometimes announce business for social reasons. not every noise is disaster.

Arthritis meds helped ours stop the post-box complaint song.

Has the vet checked blood pressure? random thought, but my old cat got extra vocal when she was generally uncomfortable.

Mine did that with constipation more than peeing issues. like the event was simply rude to her.

Could still be pain even if it isn't urinary pain. some cats vocalize after the awkward squat itself.
