LLY is expensive and I still understand why people keep paying up

This is one of those names where 'too expensive' has been true in some abstract spreadsheet sense for what feels like forever, and yet the business keeps handing the market new reasons to stay excited. Obesity, pipeline depth, execution, all of it.

I don't own it because I hate buying greatness after everybody already agrees it's great. But I no longer do the smug thing where I call it obvious overvaluation and move on.

My biggest investing pain is confusing 'too high for me' with 'too high for the market.'

There are expensive stocks and then there are expensive businesses with a line outside the store.

Pipeline plus execution gets a premium. People underestimate how rare both at once are in pharma.
