quoted 1800 for a 13 year old cat dental and I nearly fainted

Not complaining that vets should work for free, just having a regular human moment. Estimate includes anesthesia, x-rays, probable extractions, meds. Cat still eats, purrs, and headbutts, but the breath could strip paint and he's dropping kibble. Did your seniors bounce back okay from dentals? That's my bigger fear.

Mine was around 1600 in Toronto with two extractions. I cried in the parking lot and then paid it.

Ask if pre-op bloodwork is included. some clinics quote low then add it later.

It is included, plus IV fluids because of age. The estimate is unfortunately very real.

The sticker shock is awful but dentals are one of those things where waiting gets pricier.

Senior does not automatically mean bad anesthesia candidate. depends on the actual cat.

If his breath is that rough, there's probably more going on than you can see

My 15yo did great and acted younger after. I think he had been living with mouth pain for months.
