please stop bringing your rude dog into the small-dog side 'just for a minute'

Dog park rant from a tired apartment person: if your off-leash dog blows through recall and body slams the tiny-dog section gate, the problem is not that my 14 lb dog 'needs to socialize more.' The problem is you are treating the rules like cute suggestions.

Thank you. This exact thing is why I stopped going at peak hours.

A lot of owners confuse social with indiscriminate. Not every dog needs to greet every dog.

The 'he's friendly!' yell from 40 feet away has ruined that phrase for me forever.

Gate rushing is one of those things that's funny exactly zero times.

The worst is when they stand there yelling the dog's name like volume counts as training.

Counterpoint: some parks divide by size so badly that the medium dogs fit nowhere. Doesn't excuse gate-crashing though.

Yeah that's fair. I'm not mad about a 28 lb polite dog. I'm mad about owners watching chaos unfold and shrugging.

My building dog chat acts like avoiding the park means your dog has a tragic life. Meanwhile my dog prefers two calm friends and a sniffy field.

People hear 'friendly' and think it covers zero impulse control.

I'll be the tiny dissent here: some small-dog sections are chaos too. Size alone doesn't equal safer behavior.

Agreed honestly. I've seen tiny tyrants. I just want people to respect whichever side they're choosing instead of freelancing it.
