are premium sleeves worth it or am i protecting cardboard from absolutely nothing

I own exactly one friend who shuffles like he is trying to start a lawnmower, so I get the impulse. But then I look at the price of fancy sleeves for a big deck game and start doing sad math.

Where do you all draw the line?

If a replacement deck costs less than sleeves, the universe is sending you a message.

Honestly I mostly sleeve because I like the feel, not because the cards are in danger.

Premium for deckbuilders, cheap for everything else.

I never sleeve party games. mayonnaise energy is part of their life cycle.

I sleeve if the game gets constant play or has hidden role cards that get grubby fast.

Your lawnmower friend needs chunkier games.
