Otis is 2, city dog, absolute sweetheart. We picked an easy trail outside Spokane and I thought we'd have a nice steady morning. Nope. He power-walked the whole first hour like he was late for a meeting, then slept in the car so hard he missed the burger stop.

I packed way too much because I was nervous: about 2 liters for him, 1.5 for me. We used most of it because it was warmer than the forecast.
