anybody adopt bonded seniors and regret it? be honest
A local rescue has a pair of older pugs who need to stay together. My heart says yes, my spreadsheet says absolutely not, and my apartment says 'define together.' I keep hearing that seniors are easy until they aren't, and doubling meds/checkups scares me more than the sleepiness does.

Two old dogs means when one has a bad week the other often spirals too. Just being real.

Counterpoint: my bonded seniors were the easiest housemates I ever had and taught me more about gentleness than any puppy.

There is no shame in saying no to a setup you can't sustain.

I didn't regret the dogs, I regretted underestimating the logistics.

Bonded seniors can be low-key emotionally and high-key financially.
