finally donated her old raincoat today

Mina was a scruffy little senior who hated wet grass and somehow loved every hardware store in a thirty mile radius. She's been gone since spring. Her raincoat hung by the door all summer because I couldn't touch it. Dropped it at a rescue closet this morning and cried in the parking lot harder than expected, but it also felt like movement.

The object grief is so specific. I couldn't move my dog's food mat for months.

Some other cranky little weather-hating queen is gonna rock that raincoat now.

That absolutely counts as movement. Small, awful, real movement.
