rescue cat has lived under our radiator for 9 days

Shelter said shy, and wow they undersold it. She comes out to eat at night, uses the box, and I caught her drinking at 4:30 this morning. No hissing, no swatting, just absolutely committed to becoming part of the plumbing. I'm trying to leave her alone but also spiraling that maybe she's miserable here.

Try one room only if you haven't already. whole apartment can be too much map to hold in their little brain.

If she's eating, drinking, and using the box, she's adjusting. miserable cats usually stop doing one of those.

Okay that actually helps. I think I needed someone to say hiding isn't the same as regretting.

Nine days is nothing in scared-cat time.

I foster for a municipal shelter. We tell people 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months for a reason.

Sit on the floor and read out loud. no eye contact. sounds silly but it worked with my former sewer goblin.
