yes, you can have a big shepherd in an apartment if you like schedules more than excuses

I keep seeing people say apartment living is automatically cruel for large dogs. I get where that comes from because plenty of people under-exercise their dogs in houses too. But my 78 lb shepherd gets three structured walks, nosework in the hallway, training reps in the lobby, and a weekend trail. He is calmer than he was in our old rental with a yard because a yard made me lazy.

There *are* dogs who truly struggle in apartments though. I don't think size is the whole story, but temperament matters a ton.
