am I insane keeping crypto at 17%?

33, no kids, renting, maxing tax-advantaged stuff but my taxable drifted into a weird corner.

Current split:
VTI 46%
VXUS 17%
BTC 12%
ETH 5%
BND 10%
cash/MMF 6%
REIT fund 4%

The BTC/ETH chunk used to be closer to 8% and I just... didn't trim. Part of me says let winners run, part of me says this is how people end up posting horror stories in 2 years. Anybody here actually comfortable above 15% crypto or is my brain being cooked by spending too much time online?

You already know the answer because you wrote 'horror stories.' Trim until your chest unclenches.

17% would make me itchy but not because it's mathematically illegal. More because crypto drawdowns are the kind that ruin your sleep.

Age/income matter too. At 33 with no dependents you can survive being a little dumb. Just don't confuse survivable with smart.

I keep mine at 2% on purpose. Small enough that if it 10x's I smile, small enough that if it goes to zero I still go to work Monday.

Mine hit 22% once from pure drift. I sold back to 10 and felt instantly less annoying as a person lol
