Is the extra passphrase thing worth the stress?
Reading about hardware wallets led me to hidden wallets and additional passphrases and now I can't tell whether it's smart extra security or just a great way for me to lock myself out creatively.
For a beginner with modest holdings, when does that level of setup make sense?

I wouldn't start there. Nail the basics first: seed backup, recovery drill, small test sends.

I added a passphrase after a year, not week one. Zero regrets waiting.

Some people genuinely need plausible deniability or layered storage. Most beginners just need fewer moving parts.
