Is sending a tiny test transaction every single time overkill?

I know the usual advice is test first for a new address or new setup. But what about routine transfers to the same place?

Part of me thinks a test send is cheap insurance. Part of me thinks I'm paying an anxiety tax forever.

Nothing wrong with an anxiety tax if the fee is small and it keeps you from rushing.
