Singapore folks / Asia folks: one world ETF or split by region if you’re just starting?

I can invest regularly now but not huge amounts. Torn between the elegant one-fund approach and doing a small regional split because I feel weird having no explicit Asia allocation outside whatever is already in the global index.

Curious how other people in this part of the world think about home-region exposure.

From Singapore: I keep a broad global core and a small local ETF side bucket. Helps me stay sane.

I laughed, but only because I recognized myself in it.

I went one world fund because my biggest risk was tinkering, not under-optimizing region weights.

That was the bridge between theory and actual behavior for me.

If the split makes you save more, that's useful. If it just gives you more knobs to turn, maybe not.

This is why I now ask whether a plan still works on a stressful Tuesday.

Good point about salary already being local exposure.

That idea alone may save me from overcomplicating this. thanks

Home bias isn't evil, just make sure it's intentional. many of us already have salary/property/career tied to our home economy

Yep, and imported online advice often forgets the local paperwork monster.
