my mom asked why i wouldn't just buy the bitcoin ETF instead

Honestly... fair question? She heard me talking about hardware wallets and seed phrases and said, 'Why don't you just buy the easier version in your normal account?'

I'm not trying to start a war here. Just curious how people think about direct custody vs easy exposure, especially for total beginners or older relatives.

I told my dad the ETF is like paying valet for convenience. Not a perfect analogy but it clicked.

For relatives who already use brokerages and hate tech, I wouldn't force the wallet journey.

For some people, easier exposure is absolutely the better answer. Simplicity reduces self-inflicted wounds.
