do you let your dog greet every kid who asks on walks?

Apartment area, lots of families, sweet dog, but I am trying to stop feeling like I owe every sidewalk interaction. Curious where people land between community-building and protecting the dog's bandwidth.

I let the dog decide. If she leans in, cool. If not, we keep moving.
