anyone else irrationally scared of messing up their seed phrase?

I understand, in theory, that writing down 12 or 24 words is simple. In practice, my brain treats it like I'm defusing a bomb with oven mitts on.

I keep thinking about fire, water, forgetting where I put it, or future-me discovering I wrote one word sloppily and ruined my own life. How do normal people get comfortable with this?

I got comfortable by keeping a tiny test wallet first. Practice reduced the drama a lot.

Do a recovery drill with a very small amount. Nothing taught me faster.

It's not irrational. You're moving from 'trust company' to 'trust yourself' and that's a brain shift.
