pet insurance after the first emergency: still worth it or too late?

We paid about \$1,900 last month after our cat decided string was cuisine. She is fine now. I know that specific thing would count as pre-existing, but I keep wondering if insurance still makes sense for future random disasters. Anyone enroll after already getting burned once?

We enrolled after a kidney scare. It obviously didnt cover that, but it did help later with an unrelated surgery.

Animals are so weirdly specific about routines.

Mine would absolutely do this too.

Ask your vet office which companies are least annoying to deal with. They usually have opinions.

For us the math only worked because our dog is basically a walking deductible.

Read the exclusions like you are studying for a license exam. The marketing pages are fluff.

This is sending me because it is painfully believable.

You can also just do a pet emergency fund if monthly premiums annoy you.

Honestly either is better than crossing fingers and vibes
