does ETF currency denomination actually matter if the underlying companies are global?

I keep seeing beginners panic because one version of a fund is in USD and another is in EUR or GBP. Then somebody says it doesn't matter, then somebody else says currency risk absolutely matters, and then I close the laptop.

Can someone explain the practical beginner view without the full textbook?

A simple explanation won't cover every case, but yes, beginners often stress the wrong part first.

The trading currency and the underlying business exposure are related but not identical. That's why the thread always becomes a swamp.

Beginner view: don't confuse the label on the wrapper with what the companies inside actually earn.
