60 now, want to step back in 5 years, rate the drawdown setup I'm building

Age 60. Plan is to move to three days a week around 65, maybe fully retire a bit later if I still enjoy the work. Risk tolerance medium-low.

Target setup I'm building toward:
- 45% global equities
- 30% bonds
- 15% cash
- 10% short-term bond/cash reserve for first withdrawals

Current balance is a bit over 1.4m. I keep resisting the urge to chase higher equity returns because I know what I'm actually buying now is smoother landings, not bragging rights.

Smoother landings is exactly the right phrase for this stage.

Agree. Quibbling over 5% is less important than having the runway at all.
