earnings season makes me want to gamble even though my plan is supposedly boring

I can feel my brain trying to convince me that one or two little trades around earnings would make investing more 'interesting'. This is probably how people accidentally develop a side quest.

Anybody have rituals to keep their long-term plan from getting hijacked by casino energy?
