for small accounts, is monthly DCA still worth it if the broker charges per trade?

I can invest about 150 EUR per month. Broker is cheap-ish overall but still has a fixed fee every time I buy. Quarterly purchases seem more efficient, but then I overthink timing and end up delaying.

Anyone here intentionally buy every 2-3 months instead of monthly?

Some brokers have recurring-buy discounts hidden in the settings. Worth a look.

It sounds obvious now, but it did not feel obvious at the time.

Yep, and imported advice often forgets normal people exist.

I do every other month for exactly this reason. The perfect schedule is the one that actually survives contact with your fee structure.

Same lesson here, just with a smaller account and more drama.

Exactly. good systems survive tired versions of us.

Run the numbers on an annual basis and the answer usually reveals itself fast.

The practical answer is usually less glamorous and more useful.

This would've spared me a lot of false urgency.

If monthly keeps you consistent, a slightly higher fee can still be worth it versus missing contributions because you keep 'waiting'.

That is my real bad habit tbh. I say quarterly then suddenly it's month five

Same, especially once real fees showed up instead of hypothetical ones.

I was in Malaysia when I started and the minimum commissions basically forced me into chunkier buys. Not ideal, not fatal.

I appreciate when people say this without pretending emotions don't exist.

That was the gap between theory and behavior for me too.
