Hard pill to swallow: Nobody actually wants a 'Bitcoin circular economy'. 99% of you are just waiting to dump your bags for fiat so you can buy real estate.
let's be brutally honest with ourselves for once.
Every bull market, crypto Twitter and forums are flooded with pseudo-philosophical manifestos about 'hyperbitcoinization', separating money from state, and how fiat currency is mathematically doomed to zero.
Yet the moment Bitcoin goes on a parabolic run, what is the first thing every 'diamond hands' HODLer talks about? Buying a 4-bedroom house with a backyard pool in Austin, paying off parents' debt in Euros, or picking up a Porsche. All priced and settled in dirty, inflationary central bank fiat.
When was the last time any of you actually bought lunch, paid rent, or tipped a barista using on-chain Bitcoin or Lightning Network? Satoshi envisioned a peer-to-peer electronic cash system. What we actually got is a digital gold meme where everyone is nervously staring at 15-minute candle charts, waiting for the right moment to exit back into the very government fiat they claim to hate.
Change my mind. Or downvote me because you know your limit sell orders are already sitting at \$150k

Buying real estate with crypto gains isn't 'dumping', its converting volatile digital energy into a tangible, physical asset with four walls, a roof, and clean water. You cannot sleep inside an unspent transaction output (UTXO)

not with that attitude. You can live in your mom's garage and stare at the mempool fee estimations all day like a true sovereign individual

My mom started charging rent in Satoshis after she saw the ETF approval news on Bloomberg. There is no escape

My strategy: DCA \$50 every week, close the exchange app, ignore the influencers screaming with open mouths on YouTube thumbnails, and live my life. In 10 years I'll either buy a vineyard or tell my grandkids about the great internet magic money experiment

Instructions unclear, checked CoinGecko 47 times during my morning commute

Only 47? Those are rookie numbers. You gotta check the 1-minute chart while brushing your teeth

The funniest part of this cycle is watching the 'cypherpunks' celebrate BlackRock and Fidelity launching spot ETFs. In 2011: 'Decentralized peer-to-peer cash to destroy Wall Street banks!' In 2026: 'Please Larry Fink buy my bags through a 401(k) custodial wrapper!'

We went from 'Not your keys, not your coins' to 'Thank you Daddy BlackRock for pumping my retirement account' in record speed

ideology ends the exact millisecond a 5x green candle appears on the chart

Have fun staying poor. Selling the hardest asset in human history for printed green toilet paper that loses 7% purchasing power a year is peak financial illiteracy. Bitcoin IS the exit strategy. You dont sell Bitcoin; you borrow against it

cool story man. Try borrowing against your Bitcoin during an 80% liquidation wick at 3 AM when the exchange API crashes. Also, try paying your municipal property tax or dentist bill with an encrypted 24-word seed phrase stamped onto a titanium washer

jokes on you, my dentist doesn't even accept contactless cards, let alone on-chain zero-conf transactions

The titanium washer in the flower pot 💀. Man's burying his hardware wallet in the backyard like a paranoid squirrel hiding acorns

Every time someone asks 'why don't you spend Bitcoin on coffee?', I get Laszlo Hanyecz 10,000 BTC Papa John's flashbacks. Nobody spends an appreciating asset. It's Gresham's Law: bad money drives out good money. You hoard the scarce asset and dump the garbage fiat
Oliver Smith · 5 likes
Gresham's Law requires an eventual endgame where the asset functions as a unit of account. Right now, if your landlord denominated rent in BTC, your monthly rent would be 0.02 BTC in January and you'd be living on ramen by March when BTC doubles

My landlord still insists on paper cheques dropped into a rusty mailbox. We are not hyperbitcoinizing before the sun burns out

I would gladly cash out and buy a four-bedroom house, if only I hadn't tragically lost all my private keys and cold storage devices in an unfortunate boating accident on Lake Tahoe back in 2022

Plot twist: the boat sank becuase the titanium seed plates were too heavy

Bro why are you attacking me personally on a Tuesday afternoon? My \$150k limit sell order did nothing to hurt you

At least you have the courage to admit it! The rest of this thread is going to quote Austrian economics and Ludwig von Mises while secretly calculating how many square meters of Lisbon real estate there 0.4 BTC can buy

Hey! Lisbon real estate is very nice and my future golden retriever deserves a backyard. Don't judge my retirement plan

I actually tried paying for an espresso over Lightning Network last month at a hipster tech cafe. Channel routing failed twice, the node had insufficient inbound liquidity, and the barista stared at me like I was trying to pay with radioactive pebbles. I gave up and tapped Apple Pay in 0.3 seconds

Clearly a skill issue. You should have opened a balanced dual-funded channel, run submarine swaps through an LSP, and kept your own full node synced on a Raspberry Pi strapped to your chest

LMAO 'Raspberry Pi strapped to your chest'. Peak 2026 futuristic consumer experience right there

I honestly cannot tell if your comment is hilarious sarcasm or a copy-paste from actual Lightning Network developer docs
