Bitcoin holding steady above key support while altcoins bleed out - is this just rotation or a real decoupling?

ETF flows are the real story this cycle that didnt exist last time, institutional money prefers the simplicity of btc exposure over picking individual alts, thats structurally different now

dominance rising then altseason following has been the pattern for 3 cycles in a row, no reason to think this time is fundamentally different just becuase of etfs imo

counterpoint, past patterns assumed retail driven cycles, this ones increasingly institutional wich could break the usual rotation timing

ive stopped trying to time rotation and just dca into btc only at this point, lost too much chasing alt pumps that reversed before i could exit

liquidity is just thinner in alts right now, doesnt take much selling pressure to tank the price compared to btc's deeper order books

every cycle someone says 'this time its different' and then it mostly isnt, but every cycle also has one genuinely new structural factor, this time its clearly etf custody flows

my alt bags are down 60% while btc is barely red, definitely feeling this personally lol. lesson learned about diversification i guess

we've all been there, the first big rotation always hurts the most before you learn to size positions better

regulatory clarity on btc specifically (as a commodity not security) vs the ongoing ambiguity for alts is probably underrated as a driver of this rotation too
