Web Dev · by Tiny Coder · 2026-10-03

What are the red flags beginners miss in Web Dev without fancy tools?

would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Web Dev feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time

Try making a tiny reproduction with no framework code. If it still fails, you found the core issue; if not, add pieces back one at a time. This pairs weirdly well with ramen

the safe answer is to keep the API boring: clear names, explicit errors and one behavior per function. This would have saved me a lot of trial and error

The best answer in the thread, honestly

This is genuinely helpful, thanks for writing it out. This is more useful on a tired weekend then on a perfect day
