The thing nobody told me about performance that actually stuck

I started this because my late summer felt a little stuck, and javascript seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 9 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

This has cozy competence written all over it. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing.

Respectfully, I see it the other way.

Glad you shared it; small wins count. The commute version is even more interesting.

Yep, the boring details matter.

I was going to disagree, but your second sentence got me.

I am saving this for the next time I overthink nobody.

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. The low-effort version is probably the keeper.
