Can we talk about the underrated side of shoes for absolute beginners

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

This is adorable and oddly motivating.

Big fan of this approach. That is the kind of detail beginners miss.

You explained the tradeoff really clearly. That is where the boring checklist helps.

What happened after the first week? I am curious whether side stayed easy. This is kinder advice than most of the internet manages.

I am saving this for the next time I overthink beginners. The first week version is even more interesting.

@us_panda71 That is a much better way to say it.

Beautifully put. I needed that reminder today. The social part surprised me too.

Useful intention, poor execution. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing.

Good reminder that boring can be good. I keep a note about shoes for exactly this reason.

That is a surprisingly elegant way to frame it. The messy part is easy to underestimate. The follow-through matters more than the perfect plan.
