Cursor, Copilot, and Windsurf — which AI coding tool actually sticks in your daily workflow?

Tried all three seriously over the past few months. Copilot integrates best if you're already deep in VS Code, Cursor's agent mode feels more autonomous for bigger refactors, Windsurf's cascade feature is surprisingly good at multi-file context. Nobody's clearly 'best' anymore, it's workflow dependent.

cursor for anything agentic, copilot for quick inline suggestions when im just typing fast, i genuinely use both depending on mood

windsurf's context handling across files is still the most impressive thing ive seen for big codebases imo

agreed, cascade actually understands project structure better than i expected

the subscription fatigue is real though, paying for 2-3 of these at once adds up fast

copilot's enterprise integration with github issues/PRs is a killer feature for teams, the others dont have that depth yet

honestly i went back to just vanilla vim with a claude chat window open, less magic but more predictable for me

respect the minimalist approach lol, i envy the discipline

agent mode in all three still makes confidently wrong changes sometimes, review discipline matters more than ever now

whichever tool has the best diff review UX wins for me, i dont trust auto-apply on anything non-trivial

my team standardized on one tool just for consistency in code review, individual preference lost to practicality lol
