Sora-generated video is getting hard to distinguish from real footage in short clips

openai.com

Watched a few new community Sora clips today and honestly for sub-10-second shots the artifacts are basically gone. Feels like we crossed a threshold. What's the actual plan for provenance/watermarking here long term?

the physics is still slightly off if you look at liquids and cloth, but yeah for a casual scroll youd never catch it

true, hair and fabric physics are the tell for now

provenance metadata gets stripped the second someone screenshots or re-encodes it, watermarking alone wont save us

we need platform-level detection not just creator-side labeling, too easy to strip

as a video editor this both excites and terrifies me professionally lol

the c2pa standard is supposed to help here but adoption across platforms is still patchy

yeah c2pa is promising on paper, execution is the hard part

genuinely can't wait for when this gets good enough for indie filmmakers who cant afford vfx teams

my dad already got fooled by a sora clip of a 'news event', this is gonna be a mess for older generations online
